Meet Carri

Senator Carri Hicks is a mother, educator, and lifelong Oklahoman. The daughter of a public school teacher, she graduated from Oklahoma City University and has dedicated her career to service in both the nonprofit and education sectors.
Her work with United Way of Central Oklahoma, St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, Rainbow Fleet, Putnam City and Deer Creek Schools, and Positive Tomorrows helped her develop a wide range of skills in fundraising, communications and teaching.​
Carri began teaching in the Putnam City School District in 2011. She spent three years as a kindergarten teacher at Tulakes Elementary before moving to the Deer Creek School District, where she taught first grade, and later fourth grade math and science at Grove Valley Elementary.
Today, Senator Hicks serves on the Senate Education, Health and Human Services, Agriculture and Wildlife, Technology and Telecommunications, and Appropriations Committees.

She lives in northwest Oklahoma City with her husband, Spencer, and their three children—Camilla, Holli, and Sawyer.
